Vacation with a dog

For all guests planning a vacation with a dog, we have summarized the most important information and interesting facts. We are also happy to provide additional recommendations for dog-friendly excursion destinations in the region.

What are dogs allowed to do at the Oberhauserhütte

Our Rodenecker-Alm rooms have a small fenced-in garden, which is perfect for letting your dog outside freely.

Free run: Dogs are allowed to run free in the meadow next to the house, but don't forget that we are in the middle of nature, so consider the possibility that your dog might see wild animals and possibly chase them. ATTENTION:Dogs are not allowed to poach. If your dog has a strong hunting instinct, please do not let it run free. In Italy, dogs must be kept on a lead during walks to avoid disturbing the local wildlife. This also prevents them from running toward other people or animals.

Respect: We respect all guests. If someone is afraid of dogs, feels uncomfortable around them, or is allergic, we offer these guests allergy-friendly rooms and ensure that contact with dogs is kept to a minimum.

Dining room: Dogs are welcome in the dining room as long as no other guests are disturbed and the dog behaves quietly. If this is not possible, we can offer our Stube as an alternative; otherwise, the dog must stay in the room.

Hiking with dogs: There are numerous hiking trails starting directly from the hotel, which are also ideal for dogs.

What to consider

Bring your own food and water bowls
Please bring your dog’s usual food. This helps avoid gastrointestinal issues during the vacation.
Bring your dog’s bed, blanket, and toys so they have a familiar place even while traveling.
The entire area must be kept clean. Please bring dog waste bags and dispose of them in the designated bin, which we will show you upon arrival.
