Arrival – Summer and Winter
Our beautiful location is easily accessible by car in both summer and winter.
Restaurant guests are kindly asked to park at the Zumis parking lot. There are designated paid parking spaces available there.
Our hotel guests are allowed to drive the last 600 m to the hut. Upon arrival, you will receive a permit to park your car directly on site.
There is a restricted traffic period from June 15 to September 30. During your stay, driving on the forest road is not permitted between 9:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. The only exceptions are your arrival and departure days.
The best way to reach us is to exit the highway at Varna and head towards Rio di Pusteria. From there, continue via Rodengo to the Zumis parking lot on the Rodengo/Luson Alp.
Please note: Our official address is in Luson, as we are right on the municipal border. However, the road via Rodengo is shorter and more convenient. Be sure to double-check your GPS device so it doesn't send you on an unnecessary detour.

Winter tires / snow chains
We recommend using good tires all year round – especially in winter.
In South Tyrol, winter tires are mandatory from November 15 to April 15, regardless of weather conditions.
We also suggest carrying snow chains as a precaution. If you need help putting them on, staff at nearby gas stations will be happy to assist you – and we’re also available to help when you depart.
Tip for diesel vehicles: Ideally fill up in Austria or in South Tyrol just before your arrival. Temperatures here can drop as low as –20 °C at night, which may cause diesel in the hoses to freeze.
The winter diesel sold in our region includes an anti-freeze additive to prevent this.
Public transportation
You can also reach us via public transport. We’re lucky to have an hourly bus service from Rio di Pusteria.
Please note: The last 600 m to the hut must be done on foot.
As timetables change every year, we recommend contacting us in advance if you're planning to arrive by bus, so we can help make your journey as smooth as possible.
Important: We do not offer a shuttle service.
